The Human Rights Center of the CEACL (HRC CEACL) is a platform for scientific dialogue among scholars and professionals interested in international human rights law. It establishes a hub for academic engagement on issues such as the protection of vulnerable groups (e.g. national minorities, children, or persons with disabilities), the protection of environmental human rights, the human rights dimension of the international criminal law and international humanitarian law, both at the universal level and within the regional human rights mechanisms.

The HRC CEACL serves as a laboratory for research and curriculum development, inspired by the idea that the universality and indivisibility of human rights might still accommodate a regional perspective on human rights protection, given that different collective identities and related sensitivities, different historical backgrounds, might translate into different emphasis on certain human rights issues, reflecting the cultural and legal heritage of the Central and Eastern Europe.
