The monograph ascertains the balance between the principles of military necessity and humanity. This balance can be considered as the essence of International Humanitarian Law. The study provides a structured overview of rights and obligation issues applied during an armed conflict, focusing mainly on theoretical shortcomings in the field and their impact.

The XXVI Annual Conference of the Association for Labor Law and Social Insurance of Serbia

The 26th Conference of the Serbian Association for Labor Law and Social Insurance was held in Vrnjačka Banja between 27-29 September, 2024. The event covered key topics related to labour law, including pension systems, employment relationships, and social protection. Participants from academia, legal practice, and government sectors discussed contemporary challenges and potential reforms in these areas.

Thriving bilateral relations - for 35 years

The Directorate General for International Affairs of the Ludovika University of Public Service organised the Hungary-Korea Forum on 1 October, 2024 at the St. Ladislaus Chapel. The aim of the conference was to foster bilateral dialogue between high-level decision-makers and scholars from both countries.

Transylvanian International Conference in Public Administration. 6th Edition

The Babeș-Bolyai University hosted the 6th edition of its conference titled Conference in Public Administration between 3-5 October, 2024, with the topic of fostering local and regional innovation through partnerships, with an emphasis on the role of universities.

PhD Thesis Workshop

On 7 October, the Central European Academy hosted a PhD Thesis Workshop, which gave fourth-year doctoral students the opportunity to practice defending their dissertation research. The workshop simulated a real thesis writing process, allowing our candidates to gain experience in presenting their work, responding to critics.

III CEA Supervisors’ Workshop – Budapest 2024

The Central European Academy workshop series continued with the third event on 10 October 2024 in Budapest. Following the successful spring workshop in Bratislava earlier this year, this event brought together young researchers and students once again to engage in scientific debate across disciplines.

Upcoming Lecture of Prof. Dr. Sandra Joireman: “Legacy and Lessons of Forced Displacement in Serbia”

The Institute for European Studies hosted a lecture by Prof. Dr. Sandra Joireman on 10 October, 2024, titled “Legacy and Lessons of Forced Displacement in Serbia.” Dr. Joireman, an expert in international studies and political science, discussed property rights and post-conflict migration. The event was available in person and online via Zoom.

14th Constructal Law Conference

The National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest organized the 14th edition of its conference on construction law, in cooperation with the Yildiz Technical University (Türkiye) on 10-11 October, 2024.

International Law and Diplomacy in the Black Sea Region. Legal Perspectives and Practices for Ukraine’s Reconstruction

The Romania–Ukraine Bilateral Chamber of Commerce, together with the Embassy of the Ukraine in Romania, the Faculty of Law within the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, and Universul Juridic Publishing House organised an international conference on the legal aspects of Ukraine’s reconstruction on 11-15 October, 2024.

The Ludovika University of Public Service, Faculty of Law Enforcement held the „III. Ludovika International Law Enforcement Research Symposium (LILERS)” international academic conference on 15-16 October, 2024 at the Education Building. The main topic of the conference is the contemporary developments in law enforcement.

Scienceleagues organized the conference titled International Conference on Substantive Rights and International Humanitarian Law in Bucharest, between 15-16 October, 2014 in a hybrid format on the topic of humanitarian rights.

Fundamental Rights and the Use of the Preliminary Reference Procedure

Victim support training in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice is expanding its cooperation with the University of Miskolc by starting the training and continuing education of professionals participating in victim assistance. The partnership serves to ensure the supply of professionals for victim support services. 

Act No 214/2024 on the Use of Electronic Signatures, Time-Stamps and the Provision of Trust Services Based on Them has entered into force on October 7, 2024

As of 7 October, 2024 electronic signatures, time-stamps and other electronic trust services are regulated by a new act, which applies the eIDAS Regulation onto the pre-existing Romanian legal framework, modifying nearly all rules applicable to electronic signatures and repealing the previous norms.
